Saturday 22nd June saw the fourth annual summer fete day at Stonehouse Gang. Held at the Gang’s club house on Burnel Road, the fete saw record breaking number of people attend – raising a vital £750 for the charity.
The fete, that was originally meant to be a one off event for the Gang’s 75th anniversary has grown in popularity over the last four years and this year more people than ever took part. With a range of activities for children including a bouncy castle, hook a duck, hoopla and stocks, alongside a number of fund raising stalls and BBQ – the day was a huge success as Leader of the Stonehouse Gang, Rob Green explains:
“It was great to see so many people at this year’s summer fete. What started off as a one off event to celebrate our 75th anniversary has now turned into a major fund raising opportunity for the Gang and this year has broken all previous records.
“I’d like to thank all the volunteers that made it possible – it’s amazing what a community can do when they come together.”
